SURREY, UK \u2013 The explosive growth of padel tennis in the UK is creating unprecedented demand for covered facilities, with Covair reporting a significant increase in enquiries from clubs, entrepreneurs, and leisure operators seeking purpose-built padel court coverings.<\/p>\n

Padel participation in the UK has grown by 150% annually, with over 200 courts now operational and more than 300 in planning. The Lawn Tennis Association’s official adoption of the sport has accelerated investment, with an estimated \u00a350 million committed to padel facility development over the next three years.<\/p>\n

However, the sport’s unique technical requirements present challenges that traditional air domes cannot address. Padel courts feature high glass sidewalls that require structures with vertical sides rather than curved dome profiles for optimal space utilisation and player experience.<\/p>\n

“Padel is fundamentally different from tennis when it comes to covering solutions,” explained a Covair spokesperson. “The sport’s social atmosphere and spectator engagement mean facilities need structures that maintain natural ventilation and viewing areas whilst providing weather protection.
